One of the most common inquiries we receive is "What is the status of my application?". Celtic Insurance utilizes a secure online application process that allows applicants to confirm that the application was submitted and then gives periodic updates. For this reason, when an applicant is unaware of the status of the application then a second underlying problem may exist.
This article is meant to help you understand the possible causes of a missing status message and what steps you should do to correct it. The article is broken down into the following topics for easier navigation:
Celtic Insurance's online application system always shows an on-screen confirmation at the completion of the application process to show that your application has been submitted. The system offers your the ability to record that confirmation for your records. If you did not see that on-screen confirmation, then please read the following section about the duplicate confirmation sent by e-mail.
If neither an on-screen nor an e-mail confirmation was received and you are unable to confirm the application by e-mail or telephone (as described below), then you should assume that the application was not recorded. In this case, see the "Making a second application" section below.
Celtic Insurance's online application system always sends a confirmation e-mail when an application is submitted. The email is sent from the domain inshealth.com and typically had the subject heading "Celtic has received your health plan application" followed by an identification number for the application.
If you did not receive a confirmation e-mail, this means that one of the three following things has occurred:

Onlineadviser can help confirm the status of your application and help with any other questions. Send a message to onlineadviser@celticenrollment.com for a fast response. The primary advantage of using e-mail support is that you will receive a confirmation in writing that can be referred to later if necessary.
Most e-mail questions send during business hours are addressed on the same day. Otherwise, please expect a response on the next business day. We will respond to every message even if, under unusual circumstances, our only immediate response is "We received your message and will reply ASAP".
You may call Celtic Insurance Company underwriting department directly at (877) 865-5478 to inquire about the status of your application. Celtic Insurance is open during business hours in Chicago, so note the time difference if you are calling another time zone. The primary advantage of telephone support is that you may speak immediately with a live person. The primary disadvantage is that even after speaking with a representative, you will still not have a written confirmation of your application.
A telephone call to the separate OnlineAdviser enrollment support number (800) 609-0683 may not be useful for this purpose because advisers may not have access to the Celtic Insurance application processing Web site for privacy reasons and because sometimes these telephone calls are forwarded to an adviser who may be away from the office. This service is optimized to provide the best pre-application support, but is not the best way to receive information on a submitted application.
Only application made online through Freedom Benefits insurance exchange or at www.celticenrollment.com can be confirmed in this manner. We cannot confirm applications that were made through a government-sponsored insurance program or through another insurance agency.

We cannot confirm applications nor accept agent of record requests for Celtic Insurance Company of Massachusetts. This company is operated as a seperate entity not affiliated with OnlineAdviser.
When Celtic Insurance can not confirm that your application has been received, the safest action is to immediately make a new application and then save the immediate confirmation that this new application is now being processed. Please retain both the on-screen confirmation or the e-mail confirmation for your records.
If you make a second insurance application and then the first application somehow re-appears, then it is theoretically possible that your bank or credit card could be charged twice for the same initial transaction and then refunded at a later date. Although this duplicate billing has never actually happened in our experience with Celtic's online application system, we will work with you to make sure that underwriter is aware of the possibility of a duplicate transaction.
It is not possible to have duplicate major medical insurance coverage. Electronic data safeguards are in place to prevent this from happening, however, in the event that somehow a policy were able to bypass such safeguards (for example if you used a different names and a different social security number on each application) and was issued with duplicate coverage, the insurer will rescind the duplicate coverage as soon as it is discovered.
